Disco Partner Tops Field for $100,000 New York Stallion Stakes
Disco Partner tops the field as the morning line favorite at odds of 2-1 for trainer James Ryerson. A gray son of Disco Rico bred and owned by Patricia Generazio, he broke his maiden at first asking as a juvenile at Aqueduct in October. He was second in his stakes debut and has been on the shelf since that runner-up effort in December. He has been training steadily and will break from post position four under Junior Alvarado for his first start of the year.
Possessed trying for first stakes victory
Second choice at 5-2 on the morning line is Possessed for trainer Charlton Baker. A dark bay son of Posse, he has been on the board in five of his six starts and broke his maiden in his fourth career outing. He was last seen finishing second in a starter allowance at Aqueduct in April. Jose Ortiz will be in the irons and they are scheduled to break from post position three.
Clockwork making three-year-old debut
Also in the field at morning line odds of 3-1 is Clockwork for New England Hall of Fame trainer Timothy Hills. A gelded son of Noonmark, he broke his maiden in his career debut as a two-year-old in October. He was third in his most recent start in December at Aqueduct and has been training steadily since then for his sophomore debut. Javier Castellano has the mount from the rail.
